Douglas Haddad is a middle-school teacher who has been recognized as the 2016–2017 Simsbury (CT) School District Teacher of the Year and a 2017 Connecticut Teacher-Ambassador in Public Education. He has also worked as a coach, mentor, nutritionist and inspirational speaker for children and adults. Douglas graduated magna cum laude from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology/secondary education and a master’s degree in biology. He also received a second master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and was inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi as a lifetime member.

Douglas Haddad is the author of The Ultimate Guide to Raising Teens and Tweens (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017), which provides parents with the The Ultimate Guide to Raising Teens and Tweens“child unlimited” tools necessary for unlocking their child’s full potential. The book also presents the “child limiting” challenges that teens and tweens face and strategies to help parents best prevent and stop them in their tracks.

Douglas has published more than 250 articles in the realms of parenting, education, self-help, and health and wellness. He is the co-author of an award-winning exercise and fitness book Top Ten Tips for Tip Top Shape (iUniverse, 2005), which provides super-health programs for individuals in all professional fields.

With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, coach and mentor, Douglas has spoken with hundreds of parents and has worked with them to better understand and communicate with their children in a loving way. Through his innovative teaching styles and educational games, music and videos he has created originally for children, Douglas has helped different learners become motivated; set goals; self-manage; learn how to make good choices; become happy, healthy, self-reliant and stable-minded; and navigate through peer pressures to overcome the many challenges that they are faced with each day.

Douglas has spoken at schools, libraries, bookstores, conferences, and workshops about topics related to parenting, education, and health and wellness. He has written for and been featured in many national magazines and popular online websites and is a regular guest expert on television.
